Question 1

Will this trap effectively catch mosquitoes in a medium-sized bedroom?

Accepted Answer

This trap is best suited for tiny flying insects like fruit flies and gnats. Its suction power is generally insufficient for larger mosquitoes. For best results, place it near a fruit bowl or compost bin. If mosquitoes are your main concern, many users on Reddit recommend looking into traps with stronger fans or CO2-based attractants.

Question 2

How long do the included 6 glue boards typically last, and can I use alternative brands?

Accepted Answer

Each glue board lasts roughly 2–4 weeks depending on bug activity and dust. The 6-pack covers about 2–3 months. Alternative brands may fit, but we recommend using BANPESTT’s official refills to ensure proper adhesion and airflow. Some TikTok users have successfully trimmed generic sticky cards to fit, though results vary.

Question 3

I've read that the dusk-to-dawn sensor can be unreliable. How can I ensure it works properly?

Accepted Answer

The sensor is light-sensitive and needs a clear, unobstructed view of ambient light. Avoid placing the trap behind curtains, under furniture, or near steady light sources like nightlights. A few customers reported that cleaning the sensor lens with a dry cloth resolved intermittent issues. If it still malfunctions, please contact support for a replacement unit within the warranty period.

Question 4

Is the UV light safe for pets and children? How about the glue?

Accepted Answer

The UV light is low-intensity, similar to a nightlight, and is generally safe for both pets and children. However, don’t stare directly into it for extended periods. The glue boards are non-toxic but very sticky, so keep them out of reach of small hands and paws. If skin gets stuck, use cooking oil or baby oil to gently remove the glue.

Question 5

This product claims to be "quiet"—will it disturb my sleep if placed in a bedroom?

Accepted Answer

The fan operates at a low hum, comparable to a small computer fan or phone charger. Many sleepers find it acceptable, but light sleepers may notice the noise, especially in a silent room. For a completely silent option, consider traditional sticky traps instead. If you try it, place the trap several feet away from your bed to minimize sound perception.
