Question 1

Are these USB 3.0 or USB 2.0? The product images show a blue LED—does that mean fast transfer speeds?

Accepted Answer

These drives are USB 2.0, despite the common blue LED indicator. The light simply shows activity, not speed. For daily file transfers of documents, photos, or schoolwork, the speed is perfectly adequate. However, if you regularly move large video files or work with professional media, you'll want a USB 3.0 drive. Many TikTok users have pointed out the LED's misleading nature, so we've made sure to clarify this on the product page.

Question 2

Do all three drives in the pack work reliably? I've seen a few reviews mentioning one drive failing after a month.

Accepted Answer

The vast majority of users report consistent performance across all three units. However, as with any budget-friendly multipack, a single drive can occasionally develop issues, especially with heavy, daily use. To keep your data safe, think of these as excellent secondary or backup drives—not your primary working drive. If you do encounter a problem, our standard return policy covers the entire pack within 30 days.

Question 3

Can I use these with my game console (PS5/PS4/Xbox), and can I format them for both Mac and Windows?

Accepted Answer

Yes, they work for storing game captures, save data, and screenshots on PS4, PS5, and Xbox consoles, though you'll need to reformat them to the console's required format (which wipes all existing data). For cross-platform use between Mac and Windows, we recommend reformatting to exFAT—it's plug-and-play. The drives come pre-formatted as FAT32, which has a 4GB file size limit.

Question 4

Why isn't there a write-protect switch? I wanted to use these for bootable media without the risk of accidental corruption.

Accepted Answer

You're right that physical write-protect switches are helpful for boot drives, but they're typically found on more premium, single-drive models. These KEXIN drives are designed for everyday file storage and sharing, not as dedicated bootable media. A workaround that many Reddit users suggest: simply keep one drive exclusively for bootable purposes and avoid dragging files onto it. The swivel cap also helps prevent port damage during transport.

Question 5

I only need one drive for occasional backups. Is this pack still good value, or should I buy a single, higher-end drive instead?

Accepted Answer

For occasional backups, this is actually excellent value—you'll have a spare drive on hand or can give one to a family member. The swivel design and bright LED make them very portable. That said, if you're the type of user who plugs a drive in and out daily, or if you need higher durability for travel, consider a single Samsung BAR Plus or SanDisk Ultra Fit. For light, occasional use, the KEXIN pack is a smart buy.
