Question 1

Will this pouch fit my large phone (like an iPhone 16 Pro Max or Samsung S24 Ultra) with a thick case on?

Accepted Answer

The Lamicall pouch is designed for phones up to 7 inches in screen size, but with a bulky case, it can be a tight squeeze. Many users with larger phones (e.g., S24 Ultra or iPhone Pro Max models) report that the phone fits snugly without a case, but adding a thick Otterbox-style case makes it borderline impossible to seal. For the best fit, we recommend using it without a case or with a slim, flexible skin. If your phone is over 6.7 inches, you may want to check the dimensions of your specific phone with case against the pouch's internal measurements listed in the product description.

Question 2

Can I actually use my touchscreen through the plastic, and will Face ID work?

Accepted Answer

This is one of the most common questions we see across social media. The short answer is: yes, you can tap and swipe, but don't expect the same responsiveness as the bare screen. Typing is clunky, and swiping gestures often require a firm press. Face ID generally does not work through the thick plastic. TikTok users have shown that you can still take photos using the volume buttons and answer calls, but anything requiring precise touch input is frustrating. It's best suited for taking quick photos or checking notifications, not for extended texting.

Question 3

Is this really IPX8 rated? Can I take it snorkeling or fully submerge it?

Accepted Answer

The pouch carries an IPX8 rating, meaning it's tested for submersion beyond 1 meter, but real-world results vary. Many users have successfully taken it for light snorkeling and kayaking without issues. However, a notable portion of negative reviews mention leakage after dropping the pouch in deep water or during extended submersion. The seal relies on the twist-lock being perfectly tightened, and even a tiny hair or grain of sand can cause a leak. If you plan to submerge it, we strongly recommend testing it first with a paper towel inside for 30 minutes. For serious diving or high-pressure water sports, we suggest a hard-shell waterproof case instead.

Question 4

How do I prevent fogging inside the pouch when I'm near water or humidity?

Accepted Answer

Fogging is a known issue reported by users who take the pouch from a cool, air-conditioned environment into warm, humid air (like a beach or pool). To prevent this, place a silica gel packet (the kind that comes with new shoes or electronics) inside the pouch with your phone. On Reddit, users also recommend sealing the pouch with a phone that's slightly warm from use, as this reduces the temperature difference that causes condensation. If fog does appear, simply open the pouch and wipe the interior with a dry microfiber cloth.

Question 5

I've seen mixed reviews about build quality. What happens if the pouch breaks or leaks after a few uses?

Accepted Answer

The Lamicall pouch has a generally solid build for the price, but the included lanyard is the weakest component and is often described as thin and uncomfortable. Many users replace it with a wider, padded lanyard for comfort. Regarding leaks: if water gets inside, Lamicall's after-sales support is a mixed bag according to customer feedback. Some users report easy replacements, while others say the return process is slow. We recommend testing the pouch immediately upon arrival and keeping your proof of purchase handy. For everyday use like rain protection or splash zones, it holds up well, but we suggest treating it as a "backup protector" rather than a professional-grade dry bag.
