Question 1

How do I set up the WiFi for the first time? I’ve heard it can be tricky.

Accepted Answer

The initial WiFi connection is straightforward once you know the steps: power on the tool, go to System Settings > WiFi, select your network, and enter the password. If the connection fails, try restarting your router or moving closer to it. Many TikTok users recommend performing the first software update in a low-interference environment. A quick factory reset also resolves most stubborn issues.

Question 2

Can the TS508WF program MX-Sensors without any ongoing subscription fees?

Accepted Answer

Yes – this tool programs Autel MX-Sensors (315/433MHz) with no subscription required. There are no hidden per-use fees for programming. Just note that software updates to maintain compatibility with newer vehicle models do require a free account registration, but no paid subscription is needed for basic programming and relearn functions.

Question 3

Will this tool work on my 2022 Toyota Camry? What about older cars from 2010?

Accepted Answer

It covers most vehicles from 2010 onward, including your 2022 Camry. The TS508WF supports both 315MHz and 433MHz sensors, which covers nearly all mainstream vehicles. For very rare or older TPMS sensors (pre-2008), you may need to check Autel’s online compatibility list, as some legacy models require an additional sensor activation tool.

Question 4

Does the tool come with a wall charger, or just a USB cable?

Accepted Answer

The package includes a USB cable and a 12V cigarette lighter adapter for in-car charging, but not a standard wall power brick. You can use any smartphone USB wall charger (5V/1A or higher) to charge it at home. Many users find the included car adapter sufficient for shop use, but a brick is recommended for overnight updates.

Question 5

I’ve seen some reviews mention the screen feels slow. Is that a dealbreaker?

Accepted Answer

The touchscreen is functional and clear, but it isn’t the fastest on the market – think of it as a reliable mid-range tablet, not a flagship smartphone. For typical TPMS work (triggering sensors, reading pressures, programming), the speed is perfectly adequate. If you’re used to professional-level tools like the TS601, you may notice a slight lag. Most DIY users find it responsive enough, and the savings make the trade-off worthwhile.
