Question 1

Is the video quality good enough to read license plates, especially at night?

Accepted Answer

The front camera captures very clear 4K footage during the day, making license plates easily readable. For night vision, results can vary. Many users report it performs well on well-lit streets, but in very dark areas, footage can become grainier. The included CPL filter helps reduce windshield glare, which improves clarity in daytime and with reflective plates at night. For the best night performance, ensuring your windshield is clean and adjusting the camera angle is key.

Question 2

How reliable is the app and the 5G WiFi connection for viewing footage?

Accepted Answer

The app is used for initial setup, changing settings, and downloading clips. It's important to know the 5G WiFi refers to a 5GHz wireless band, not cellular data. While functional, some users on social media mention the connection can be slow to establish or occasionally drop. For smooth operation, we recommend using the app primarily to download important clips to your phone rather than for constant live streaming. Most daily users set it and forget it, letting the SD card handle continuous loop recording.

Question 3

What's included in the box, and do I need to buy anything else to start recording?

Accepted Answer

You get everything needed to start recording right away: the front and rear cameras, a long cable for the rear camera, a car charger (12V adapter), the CPL filter, window adhesive and suction cup mounts, and the included 64GB SD card. No extra purchases are necessary for basic operation. If you wish to enable the 24H parking surveillance feature, you would need to purchase a separate hardwiring kit, which is not included.

Question 4

Is the installation complicated, especially for the rear camera?

Accepted Answer

The front camera installation is straightforward using the included mount. Installing the rear camera involves routing a long cable from the front to the back of your vehicle, typically tucked into the headliner and door seals. Many users on YouTube have found it to be a manageable DIY project with basic tools (like a plastic trim tool). The process requires some patience but no professional expertise. Comprehensive video tutorials are available online to guide you through the process step-by-step.

Question 5

I've seen comments about the mount failing. How secure is it?

Accepted Answer

The dashcam comes with both a suction cup and a static adhesive mount. The adhesive mount provides a more permanent and reliable hold, especially in temperature extremes. Some users in hot climates have reported the suction cup can loosen over time. For the most secure fit, we strongly recommend using the adhesive mount. Before applying, clean your windshield thoroughly with the provided alcohol wipe for the best bond. If you need to remove the camera, the adhesive can be replaced with inexpensive third-party pads.
