Question 1

How sturdy and stable is the bookshelf once assembled? Do I need to anchor it to the wall?

Accepted Answer

The bookshelf is stable for everyday use displaying books, decor, and medium-weight items. However, like many open-frame shelves, it can have a slight wobble, especially on uneven floors or if not fully loaded. For optimal safety and to prevent tipping—particularly in households with children, pets, or in earthquake-prone areas—we strongly recommend anchoring it to the wall using the provided hardware. Many users on Reddit mention this extra step gives them complete peace of mind.

Question 2

How difficult is the assembly, and what should I know before starting?

Accepted Answer

Assembly is straightforward but requires patience. Most users complete it in 1-2 hours. The main tips from the community are: 1) Lay out all parts and hardware first, 2) Carefully match the parts to the instruction diagrams (some YouTube tutorials can be helpful visual aids), and 3) Avoid fully tightening bolts until the entire frame is squared up. All necessary tools are included. Doing it with a partner can make the process much easier.

Question 3

Is the material quality good? The "wood" shelves look different in some reviews.

Accepted Answer

The bookshelf features a sturdy powder-coated metal frame. The shelves are made of engineered wood (like a dense particleboard) with a rustic brown laminate finish. This keeps the product affordable and lightweight. It looks great and holds standard items well, but it's not solid hardwood. As noted in some reviews, the shelves can be susceptible to chipping if banged during assembly or moving, so handling with care is advised.

Question 4

What is your return or replacement policy for damaged or missing parts?

Accepted Answer

We stand by our products. If you receive a damaged item or are missing parts, please contact our customer service team directly through your purchase platform (Amazon, etc.) or via the HOOBRO website with your order number and photos of the issue. We are committed to resolving such problems promptly, typically by sending replacement parts at no cost. Please inspect the box and all components before beginning assembly.

Question 5

Who is this bookshelf best suited for, and who might want to consider something else?

Accepted Answer

This bookshelf is a perfect fit for renters, first-home buyers, or anyone looking for a stylish, budget-friendly storage solution for books, plants, and decorative items in rustic, industrial, or farmhouse-style spaces. If you need a shelf for extremely heavy items (like large encyclopedia sets or vinyl records), require absolute rock-solid stability without wall anchoring, or are looking for solid wood furniture, you might want to consider a more heavy-duty, fully welded unit.
