Question 1

Does the carb-reducing mode actually work, or does it make rice mushy?

Accepted Answer

Reviewers report success with the CarbReduce option when using the included steam basket and pouring off the water from the bottom pot right after cooking, which yields fluffy, tasty rice. One reviewer noted the carb-reduce mode is not sufficient for parboiled or longer-cooking rice varieties like Kerala matta rice, requiring multiple long sessions.

Question 2

How many cooking functions and presets does this rice cooker have?

Accepted Answer

The listing states it has 8 cooking functions covering rice, grains, quinoa, mixed grains, slow-cooked dishes, sautéed meals, steamed recipes, and keep warm for up to 10 hours, with 8 smart cooking programs.

Question 3

Is the pot and steam basket easy to clean?

Accepted Answer

Reviewers describe the pot as steel-coated to prevent sticking and super easy to clean, including in the dishwasher, and the listing confirms the non-stick cooking pot, stainless steel CarbReduce steam basket, and removable lid are dishwasher-safe.

Question 4

How large is the cooker, and is it big enough for a family?

Accepted Answer

The listing gives a 4.74-liter capacity and 20-cup size, and one reviewer said it is really big for a family of 4 or 5, possibly even 6.

Question 5

How long does it take to cook rice?

Accepted Answer

One reviewer said it cooks quick, while another reported that on CarbReduce mode, longer-cooking rice varieties took three 40-minute sessions to fully cook.
