Question 1

Is this a real GPS tracker with live location updates?

Accepted Answer

No, it is not a standalone GPS device. The SmartCard Lite uses Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone and leverages the vast, anonymous Apple Find My network. When it's out of your Bluetooth range, its location can be updated by any nearby Apple device, but this is not real-time GPS tracking. Think of it as a super-slim Bluetooth beacon for the Find My ecosystem.

Question 2

What happens when the 2-year battery dies? Can I replace or recharge it?

Accepted Answer

The battery is non-rechargeable and non-replaceable. Once the battery depletes (after approximately two years), the device will stop functioning. This is a common point of feedback from users who prefer a long-term product. It's designed as a thin, sealed unit, so if long-term sustainability is your top priority, you may want to consider a slightly thicker tracker with a user-replaceable battery.

Question 3

How thin is it really? Will it make my wallet bulge?

Accepted Answer

Its slim design is its most praised feature! It's about as thick as 2-3 credit cards. Most users on Reddit and TikTok confirm it fits seamlessly into a standard wallet card slot without creating an uncomfortable bulge. It's specifically designed for minimalists who want tracking without adding bulk.

Question 4

How does it compare to an Apple AirTag? Which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

It's a trade-off between form and function. Choose the KeySmart SmartCard Lite if your priority is an ultra-thin, credit-card form factor for your wallet or passport sleeve. Choose an Apple AirTag if you need louder sound, slightly more precise finding, a replaceable battery, and a thicker puck-style design. Many users get both for different use cases.

Question 5

Is it durable enough for daily use in a wallet?

Accepted Answer

While many users find it holds up fine, a common note in reviews is to handle it with care. Its thin design can be susceptible to bending or cracking if subjected to extreme force (like sitting on a very full wallet). For typical daily carry, it's durable, but it's not indestructible. We recommend storing it in a dedicated card slot rather than a crammed pocket.
