Question 1

Are these traps truly safe to use in a home with pets and children?

Accepted Answer

The traps are non-toxic and contain no poison, making them safer than chemical alternatives. However, the sticky surface is extremely powerful and can trap small paws or curious fingers. Safety depends entirely on strategic placement. We recommend placing them only in hidden, inaccessible areas like under appliances, inside cabinets (behind items), or along walls behind furniture where pets and children cannot reach. Many pet owners on forums use protective bait stations for an extra layer of safety.

Question 2

How effective is the "pre-baited" scent, and should I add my own bait?

Accepted Answer

The traps come with an attractant scent to lure pests. While many users find this sufficient, some social media reviews suggest adding a tiny dab of a high-attraction food like peanut butter or chocolate spread in the center can significantly increase catch rates, especially for savvy mice. It's a quick and easy step for optimal performance.

Question 3

I'm concerned about the humane aspect. How do these traps work, and what's the disposal process like?

Accepted Answer

These are glue traps, which immobilize pests upon contact. We understand this raises ethical concerns for some. Disposal is straightforward but requires handling: simply fold the trap onto itself (so the pest is enclosed), place it in a sealed bag, and discard it in your outdoor trash. For those seeking alternative methods, snap traps or electric traps offer a quicker kill, while live-catch traps allow for release (check local regulations first).

Question 4

What exactly can these sticky pads catch, and is the 20-pack good for a large infestation?

Accepted Answer

They are highly effective for mice, spiders, cockroaches, and large insects. For larger pests like rats, their effectiveness can vary. The 20-pack is excellent value and is ideal for placing multiple traps along walls, in basements, attics, and problem areas to address a widespread issue. As noted in many reviews, using several traps at once is key to rapid control.

Question 5

A common complaint online is about odor. How can I prevent this?

Accepted Answer

Odor occurs if a trapped pest is left for an extended period. The best practice is to check the traps frequently—every day or two—especially when you first deploy them. Prompt disposal prevents decomposition and smell. Placing traps in ventilated areas like under-sink cabinets (rather than closed boxes) can also help manage any potential odor.
