Question 1

Is the 35,000lb capacity for the entire kit or just the strap?

Accepted Answer

The 35,000lb rating refers specifically to the break strength of the 3" x 20ft tow strap itself. It is crucial to understand that the included D-ring shackles have their own, lower weight capacity. For safe recovery operations, you must always follow the lowest-rated component in your system. We recommend checking the specifications of your vehicle's recovery points as well.

Question 2

Are the included D-ring shackles strong and safe to use?

Accepted Answer

The included 3/4" shackles are designed for general use with this strap. However, many experienced users on forums and social media suggest that for serious, repeated recoveries, investing in individually rated and certified shackles from a known rigging brand is a wise upgrade for maximum safety and peace of mind.

Question 3

The strap seems very stiff in the bag. Is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is completely normal for new, heavy-duty polyester recovery straps. They are often tightly packaged and can be quite stiff initially. After the first few uses, the material will soften and become more pliable. Some users lightly pre-stretch or flatten it before their first recovery to make handling easier.

Question 4

What kind of recoveries is this kit best suited for?

Accepted Answer

This all-in-one kit is an excellent value for light to medium-duty recoveries, such as pulling a vehicle from shallow mud, snow, or sand. It's popular among casual off-roaders, truck, and SUV owners for its convenience. For frequent, severe off-roading or kinetic (snatch) recoveries, dedicated kinetic ropes and professionally rated hardware are generally recommended by the community.

Question 5

What if I use it and it gets dirty or shows wear? Can I still return it?

Accepted Answer

Due to the safety-critical nature of recovery gear, we cannot accept returns on used or damaged products. Our return policy applies to items in new, unused, and resalable condition with original packaging. We recommend inspecting your gear regularly for cuts, abrasions, or damage and retiring it from recovery use if any are found.
