Question 1

Are these magnets really strong enough for heavy tools or through thick material like wood?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. With over 14,800 reviews, the most consistent praise is for their exceptional strength. Many Reddit and YouTube DIYers confirm they easily hold heavy knives, tools, and fixtures through cabinet doors or multiple layers of wood. Their neodymium (rare earth) construction delivers a powerful hold that far exceeds typical fridge magnets.

Question 2

How reliable is the adhesive backing for permanent mounting?

Accepted Answer

The included 3M adhesive tape works best on perfectly clean, smooth, and non-porous surfaces. For lightweight items on flat metal or glass, it's sufficient. However, a common tip from experienced users is that for heavy-duty or vertical mounting on textured surfaces (like drywall or wood), you should plan to use the magnets with screws or a strong epoxy. The magnets themselves are often stronger than the adhesive.

Question 3

I'm worried about the size. Can you give me a real-world comparison?

Accepted Answer

Of course! Each magnet is 60mm long x 10mm wide x 3mm thick (approx. 2.36" x 0.39" x 0.12"). Think of them as slightly shorter than a AA battery but much thinner and wider. They are compact but mighty. Checking the dimensions with a ruler before ordering is a great idea to ensure they fit your project.

Question 4

Are they safe to use and do they require any special handling?

Accepted Answer

Their strength demands respect. Keep them away from children, pacemakers, and electronic devices. The biggest safety note from the community is the pinch hazard—if two magnets snap together near skin, they can cause serious injury. Always handle them separately and with care. The black nickel coating makes them waterproof and rust-resistant for most uses, but avoid chipping the coating by letting them slam together.

Question 5

What are these magnets best used for, and who are they ideal for?

Accepted Answer

They are a top choice for DIYers, crafters, workshop organizers, and home hackers. Perfect projects include creating magnetic knife strips, holding tools or router jigs, securing signs, organizing garage items, or science experiments. They are likely overkill for just holding notes on a fridge. If your project requires a flush-mounted magnet or one with screw holes, you might want to look for "pot magnets" instead.
