Question 1

What size mooncake will this mold make? Is the "75g" the size of the tool?

Accepted Answer

Great question! The "75g" refers to the recommended weight of the dough ball (filling + skin) to use with this mold, not the tool's physical size. It will produce a traditional, palm-sized mooncake. The mold itself is a compact, handheld tool, perfect for home use.

Question 2

I've seen comments about dough sticking to the stamps. How do I prevent this?

Accepted Answer

This is the most common issue for first-time users, but it's easily solved! The key is using the right dough recipe—it should be low in moisture and oil. Many TikTok users swear by lightly dusting the stamp and filled dough ball with cooked glutinous rice flour (ko flour) before pressing. Avoid wet or overly sticky doughs for crisp, clean releases.

Question 3

How durable is the plastic? Will it crack with regular use?

Accepted Answer

The mold is made from food-grade PVC plastic designed for hand-press use. While it's not indestructible, most users find it holds up well for seasonal home baking. The consensus from review communities is to avoid using excessive force or twisting the stamp. For very frequent, year-round use, some bakers do prefer investing in metal molds.

Question 4

Is this set suitable for complete beginners or children to use?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! This set is famously beginner-friendly and a popular choice for family DIY projects. The hand-press mechanism is intuitive. For best results with kids, we recommend an adult handle the dough preparation to ensure the right consistency (to prevent sticking). It's a fantastic, fun way to introduce baking and cultural traditions.

Question 5

Do the stamp designs fit securely into the mold base, or do they shift?

Accepted Answer

The stamps are designed to fit snugly into the circular mold base. However, as noted in some detailed reviews, they aren't *locked* in place. A small amount of careful hand-alignment is needed to center the design perfectly before you press down. Once you get the hang of it, this takes just a second and ensures a beautiful, centered pattern every time.
