Question 1

Will these ear plugs leave sticky residue on my ears or pillow?

Accepted Answer

Some users, especially in warm climates or during summer months, report that the wax can feel slightly tacky after removal. To minimize residue, avoid pressing the plugs too hard into your ear and consider using them in a cooler sleeping environment. A quick wipe with a dry tissue usually removes any leftover stickiness.

Question 2

Are Peace & Quiet PQ Wax Plugs safe for everyday use? I’ve heard concerns about ear infections.

Accepted Answer

They’re designed for daily use, but a few reviewers mention that prolonged wear (especially overnight) can trap moisture, which may lead to irritation or infections. For peace of mind, clean your ears before insertion, let your ear canals air out during the day, and replace the plugs every 2–3 uses. If you’re prone to ear infections, consult your doctor first.

Question 3

How well do these work for side sleepers? I move around a lot at night.

Accepted Answer

They mold comfortably to your ear, but side sleepers sometimes find the plugs can shift or flatten under pressure from the pillow. Many users recommend waiting 10–15 seconds for the wax to set before lying down. If you’re a restless sleeper, you may need to re-mold them halfway through the night—or consider pairing with a contoured pillow.

Question 4

Can I use these in the water, and do they really keep water out?

Accepted Answer

Yes, they create a waterproof seal that many swimmers appreciate. Just make sure to mold the wax firmly into the outer ear canal before entering the water. Some users note that they stay put better than silicone putty during active swimming, though they may loosen after extended sessions.

Question 5

Are these actually reusable, or are they single-use? I see 50 pillows in the pack.

Accepted Answer

Most users get 2–3 nights of use per pair before the wax loses its stickiness. That means a pack of 50 pillows typically lasts about a month for nightly use. A few reviewers were disappointed they couldn’t reuse them longer, but they’re still considered good value compared to disposable foam plugs.
