Question 1

Are these genuine ACDelco batteries, and why is an auto parts brand selling button cells?

Accepted Answer

Yes, these are authentic ACDelco batteries. ACDelco is a broad parts manufacturer owned by General Motors, and their consumer division offers a wide range of batteries, including these lithium coin cells. Think of it as a trusted brand applying its quality standards to everyday electronics, not just cars. Many users find the performance matches their expectations for a reliable, value-focused brand.

Question 2

I've heard the packaging is terrible. Is it really that hard to open?

Accepted Answer

This is the most common feedback we see. The batteries come in a sturdy, eco-friendly blister pack that many find very difficult to open by hand. Social media is full of creative solutions—using scissors, a can opener, or pliers is a frequent tip. While it secures the batteries well for shipping, we recommend having a safe tool handy for access. Once open, the batteries are neatly organized in a removable plastic tray.

Question 3

For a 24-pack, will the batteries expire before I can use them all?

Accepted Answer

This is a smart concern! These batteries have a 5-year shelf life from the date of manufacture, which is stamped on the back of the package. For the average household with multiple devices like key fobs, kitchen scales, calculators, and toys, a 24-pack is designed to be used within a few years. As one Reddit user put it, "You'll be surprised how quickly you go through them once you have a stash."

Question 4

How do these compare to name brands like Energizer or Duracell for my car key fob or watch?

Accepted Answer

For common, low-drain devices like key fobs, remote controls, calculators, and digital thermometers, users report nearly identical performance and lifespan to the major brands. The value is in the bulk cost savings. However, for critical medical devices or very expensive electronics, some consumers on forums express a preference for the brand they've always used, citing peace of mind. For everyday use, these are widely considered a reliable and cost-effective alternative.

Question 5

What should I do if I receive a package with damaged or loose batteries?

Accepted Answer

Your safety and satisfaction are important. While rare, if your package arrives damaged or with batteries loose outside their internal tray, we advise not using them and contacting the retailer's customer service immediately for a replacement or refund. Always inspect the blister pack for punctures or tears upon arrival. Most sellers have excellent policies for handling such occurrences.
