Question 1

Will this splitter fit my standard outdoor faucet?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. It features a standard 3/4" Garden Hose Thread (GHT), which is the universal size for nearly all outdoor faucets (hose bibs) in North America. Just screw it on by hand until snug.

Question 2

Is it really all-metal, and how does it hold up outdoors?

Accepted Answer

The body and critical shut-off valves are constructed from solid, heavy-duty metal (typically brass and zinc alloy). This is the #1 feature praised in reviews for its durability. Unlike plastic, it won't become brittle and crack in the sun or freeze. Many users on gardening forums mention it's a "set-it-and-forget-it" solution that lasts for years.

Question 3

I've seen comments about the valves being stiff. Is it hard to operate?

Accepted Answer

There can be a brief break-in period. A few users note the valves may feel firm when new, but this is due to the high-quality, precise metal threading. After a few uses, they turn smoothly and easily. Pro tip: Always turn the valves by the handle, not the body, for best leverage. If needed, a drop of lubricant on the stem can help.

Question 4

What do I need for installation to prevent leaks?

Accepted Answer

For a perfect, leak-free seal, we recommend using the included rubber washer and applying 2-3 wraps of Teflon tape (plumber's tape) to the threads of your faucet before screwing the splitter on. This is a standard practice for any threaded connection. While the splitter comes with one washer, having spare washers and tape on hand is a good idea for future maintenance.

Question 5

Who is this product best suited for?

Accepted Answer

This splitter is ideal for anyone tired of replacing cracked plastic splitters every season. It's perfect for gardeners with multi-zone watering systems, homeowners who use pressure washers or sprinklers, and DIYers who appreciate robust, "buy-it-for-life" tools. If you're looking for the cheapest possible option and don't mind replacing it frequently, a basic plastic model might suffice, but for long-term reliability, this all-metal design is the community favorite.
