Question 1

What's the main difference between these and the regular REFRESH TEARS in the squeezable bottle?

Accepted Answer

The key difference is the preservative-free formula in the single-use vials. The regular bottle contains preservatives to keep it sterile after opening, which is fine for occasional use. These vials are designed for frequent use (multiple times a day) or for those with sensitive eyes, as each vial is used once and discarded, eliminating any risk of preservative irritation or contamination.

Question 2

Are these easy to open? I've read some concerns about the vials.

Accepted Answer

This is a common point of feedback. The single-dose vials can be challenging to open for some, particularly if you have arthritis or limited hand strength. A tip many Reddit users share is to hold the vial upright and twist the cap *firmly*—don't pull. For easier handling, you might also consider the REFRESH RELIEVA PF, which comes in a preservative-free multi-dose bottle.

Question 3

Can I use these eye drops while wearing contact lenses?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. REFRESH TEARS PF is safe to use with soft contact lenses. However, it's generally recommended to apply the drops *before* inserting your lenses or after removing them for maximum comfort and to avoid potential lens movement.

Question 4

How long will one box last, and is it wasteful to use single-dose vials?

Accepted Answer

Each 0.33 fl oz box contains 30 single-use vials. If you use one vial per day, a box will last a month. We understand the concern about waste—many TikTok users mention it. The vials are designed this way to guarantee sterility and a preservative-free formula with every use. If environmental impact is a primary concern, you may want to explore multi-dose preservative-free systems.

Question 5

My dry eyes are quite severe. Will these provide enough relief?

Accepted Answer

REFRESH TEARS PF is excellent for providing soothing relief for mild to moderate dry eye symptoms. However, based on user reviews, some individuals with very severe or gritty dryness find they need a thicker, gel-based drop for longer-lasting relief (like REFRESH CELLUVISC). For persistent severe dryness, we always recommend consulting your eye doctor for the best personalized solution.
