Question 1

Do I need to boil water every time I feed my fish? I’m looking for something quick.

Accepted Answer

Not exactly. You mix the powder with boiling water to make a slurry, which then sets into a gel in the fridge. The good news is you can prepare a week’s worth at once. Many keepers on TikTok recommend making a full ice cube tray of the gel so you just pop out a cube for a few days of feeding—zero daily prep.

Question 2

I saw a few reviews mention the gel turns to liquid or goes bad quickly. Is that a common issue?

Accepted Answer

That’s typically a storage issue. Once prepared, the gel must be kept refrigerated and used within 7–10 days. If it gets too warm or sits in a hot tank for hours, it will break down. For uneaten food, just remove it after 15–20 minutes to avoid clouding your water. The dry powder itself has a long shelf life.

Question 3

Is this food suitable for a mixed aquarium with both top-feeding goldfish and bottom feeders like catfish?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but with a small caveat. The gel sinks slowly, which is great for mid-to-bottom feeders. However, top feeders may snatch it before it sinks. A common workaround from hobbyists is to pinch off a floating piece for your top fish and a sinking piece for your bottom dwellers to ensure everyone gets their share.

Question 4

My goldfish are picky and ignore most pellets. How likely are they to actually eat this?

Accepted Answer

Very likely. This is where the product's reputation is strongest. The scent and texture are highly attractive to most fussy fish. Many owners report it as the only food their sick or stressed goldfish will accept. Start with a tiny cube to see if they take to it; the high palatability usually does the trick.

Question 5

The jar seems small. How cost-effective is it compared to standard flakes or pellets?

Accepted Answer

It is more expensive upfront than basic flakes, but it’s a concentrated food. The 6 oz jar will make over a gallon of prepared gel. For one or two goldfish, a single batch can last weeks. You are paying for a high-protein, whole-diet formula that reduces waste. Think of it as a premium nutrition investment rather than a cheap filler.
