Question 1

I have one of the motherboards/consoles listed. Will this battery fit perfectly without any modification?

Accepted Answer

It fits a wide range of models, but it's not guaranteed for every single one listed. Most users report a successful, plug-and-play experience. However, a small number of reviews for specific ITX motherboards mention the connector shape or cable length might differ slightly from their original part. We recommend checking your device's existing battery connector against the product images before purchase.

Question 2

I've seen comments online about reversed wires. How can I be sure the polarity is correct on my unit?

Accepted Answer

This is a valid concern raised in some reviews. For safety, we strongly advise checking the polarity with a multimeter before installation. The red wire should be positive (+) and the black wire negative (-). If your unit is reversed, please do not install it and contact our support immediately for a replacement or refund. It's a rare issue, but verifying takes just a moment and protects your equipment.

Question 3

How does the build quality and lifespan compare to an original manufacturer's CMOS battery?

Accepted Answer

This battery is designed as a functional, cost-effective replacement. While it reliably performs the core function of powering your BIOS/UEFI memory, some tech enthusiasts on forums note the connector and wires may feel less robust than an OEM part. In terms of lifespan, many users get years of service, but as with all batteries, actual duration can vary based on environmental factors and device usage.

Question 4

What should I do if the battery doesn't fit or work in my device?

Accepted Answer

Your satisfaction is key. If the product is incompatible or defective, we offer a straightforward return and refund process. Please contact our customer support through your order page within the return window, and we'll guide you through the steps. Many Reddit users who had polarity issues confirmed this process was handled smoothly.

Question 5

Is this a good solution for reviving an old PlayStation 2 or 3, or should I look for a different part?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is a very popular and successful fix for PS2 and PS3 consoles suffering from CMOS-related issues like resetting the clock or startup errors. The included wire cable makes installation in the console's tight space much easier than a bare battery. For most retro gaming fans, this is the most convenient and affordable solution. For those who prefer a guaranteed exact OEM match, sourcing the specific Sony part number is an alternative, though often more expensive and harder to find.
