Question 1

Will this adhesive tape damage my paint or door frame when I remove it?

Accepted Answer

When removed carefully, it typically does not damage most standard painted or varnished surfaces. The key is surface preparation. Many Reddit users suggest cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol first and removing the tape slowly and parallel to the surface. On very delicate paint or wallpaper, testing a small piece first is always a good idea.

Question 2

Is it truly a "no cutting" solution, and will it fit my specific SimpliSafe sensor?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the adhesive strips are pre-cut to the exact size of the standard SimpliSafe entry sensor backplate for a perfect fit. It's compatible with all SimpliSafe door/window sensor models. As some YouTube reviewers have noted, if you have an older sensor with a slightly different backplate shape, you might need to trim the strip—but for the vast majority of users, it's a seamless, no-tools-required install.

Question 3

How durable is the adhesive, especially in a garage or on an exterior door?

Accepted Answer

The adhesive is strong and designed for indoor use. For most interior doors, users report it holds securely for years. For exterior or garage doors exposed to temperature swings and humidity, success depends on surface prep. Feedback on social media suggests thoroughly cleaning a *smooth, flat* surface is critical. On textured surfaces, consider using the included screw mounts for absolute certainty.

Question 4

What makes this better than just using regular double-sided tape from a hardware store?

Accepted Answer

This kit is specifically engineered for SimpliSafe sensors. It includes two crucial components: 1) Adhesive strips cut to the *exact size* of your sensor, preventing overhang or misalignment, and 2) Pre-mounted magnet pads that ensure the correct alignment and distance for reliable operation. While generic tape can work, this solution eliminates the guesswork, saving time and ensuring optimal sensor performance, which is why it's so popular among renters and DIYers.

Question 5

The magnet fell off my door frame. Is the magnet side strong enough for a door that doesn't close perfectly flush?

Accepted Answer

The included magnet is calibrated for standard door gaps. If your door has a larger gap or doesn't sit flush, the connection can be weaker. A common tip from TikTok and forum users is to first ensure the adhesive is on a perfectly clean surface. If it still fails, you can easily reinforce it by attaching a small, stronger rare-earth magnet (available at hardware stores) over the provided magnet pad for a more secure hold.
