Question 1

Is this gel really non-sticky, and will it help my sunburn from peeling?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! This is one of the most praised features. The gel is formulated to absorb quickly without leaving a sticky or tacky residue. More importantly, countless users on platforms like TikTok and Reddit have shared that consistent application after a sunburn significantly helped soothe their skin and prevent the painful peeling phase.

Question 2

I have sensitive skin and am wary of strong scents. Is this suitable for me?

Accepted Answer

While the majority love the light coconut scent, it is noticeable. If you are particularly sensitive to fragrance or have reactive skin, you may want to patch test first. Some users with sensitivities have found it perfectly fine, while others seeking a completely "natural" feel have preferred an unscented, pure aloe vera alternative.

Question 3

Can I use this for things other than sunburn?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many customers repurpose it! It's commonly used to soothe razor burn, hydrate dry skin, calm minor irritations, or as a light moisturizer after showering. The cooling and hydrating properties of the aloe work well for these uses, though it is specifically formulated for after-sun care.

Question 4

How does this compare to cheaper drugstore aloe gels or 100% pure aloe?

Accepted Answer

Sun Bum's formula is often described as more cosmetically elegant—less sticky and faster-absorbing than many thicker, generic gels. Compared to 100% pure aloe, it includes additional moisturizers and stabilizers for a better shelf life and texture. You're paying for a pleasant user experience and a trusted brand. If your primary goal is pure aloe at the lowest cost, a basic pure gel may suffice.

Question 5

I've heard the bottle can be messy. Is it travel-friendly?

Accepted Answer

The flip-top cap is convenient for home use, but ensure it clicks firmly shut. A common tip from seasoned users is to store it upright in a plastic bag when tossing it in a beach or gym bag to prevent potential leaks from pressure changes. For pure travel security, some prefer a tube-style aloe product.
