Question 1

What size and length is this backwash hose?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer lists it as a 2 inch (51mm) diameter hose that is 50 feet (15.2m) long, with a 0.025 inch (0.6mm) wall thickness. It is described as a heavy-duty blue lay-flat hose and includes a hose clamp.

Question 2

Does this hose leak?

Accepted Answer

One reviewer reported the hose arrived with ready-made holes that squirted water everywhere, while another said it was thicker than their old hose, did not kink, and had no leaks so far. A third reviewer noted it worked but expected it would leak in time like all hoses do.

Question 3

How durable is this hose?

Accepted Answer

Reviews are mixed: one reviewer said it only lasted for one pool draining and developed stress holes, and another found it too thin and worried it would burst on first use. However, a long-time pool owner called it heavy duty with no leaks, and another described it as heavy plastic that does the job.

Question 4

Is the 50-foot length enough?

Accepted Answer

Several reviewers found 50 feet too short for their setup and recommended buying the 100-foot version instead, with one saying they ended up buying a separate 100-foot hose because the 50-foot did not reach. Another reviewer who needed water directed far from the pool area said a longer hose solved their problem.

Question 5

Is this hose flexible and easy to store?

Accepted Answer

One reviewer described it as very flexible, and another said it collapses flat, rolls back up easily, and takes hardly any space. The listing also describes it as a flexible lay-flat hose.
