Question 1

How long does the peppermint scent last before I need to replace the pouches?

Accepted Answer

Based on user reports, the strong initial scent typically lasts 3 to 6 weeks, depending on environmental factors like heat and airflow in your engine bay. Many customers find they need to replace the pouches every 1-2 months for consistent effectiveness, especially during peak rodent seasons. It's designed as a natural, maintenance-involved deterrent, not a permanent "set and forget" device.

Question 2

How long does the peppermint scent last before I need to replace the pouches?

Accepted Answer

Based on user reports, the strong scent typically lasts 4-8 weeks, but this can vary with temperature and airflow. Many Reddit users suggest checking the pouches monthly; if the minty smell is faint, it's time to replace them for continued protection. For long-term storage (like an RV or seasonal car), consider refreshing them every 6-8 weeks.

Question 3

Is this repellent safe to use around my car's engine and wiring?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The pouches are designed to be heat-resistant and won't melt under normal engine bay temperatures. They contain natural peppermint oil and are non-toxic, making them a safe alternative to poisons or harsh chemicals that could damage components. Just secure them away from direct contact with very hot parts like the exhaust manifold.

Question 4

Is this repellent safe to use around my car's wiring and engine components?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the product is non-toxic and designed to be safe for use in engine compartments. The active ingredient is peppermint oil, which won't corrode wires or hoses. However, to be extra cautious, ensure the pouch is securely placed away from direct contact with very hot engine parts (like the exhaust manifold) and moving components. Many TikTok users show them zip-tied to a stable, cool spot under the hood.

Question 5

How many pouches do I need, and where should I place them?

Accepted Answer

For one car, users on TikTok and review forums commonly use 2-3 pouches. Place them in key rodent entry points: near the firewall, on top of the battery, in the engine bay corners, and near the air intake. For garage or shed protection, space several pouches around the perimeter and near potential entry holes. Remember, coverage is better than concentration.
