Question 1

What exactly does this device switch between two PCs?

Accepted Answer

It shares USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner) between two computers. It does not switch video or monitors.

Question 2

How do I switch between PC A and PC B?

Accepted Answer

Press the switch on the unit to toggle between PCs; connect each computer with the included USB-A cables and watch the LED indicator to see which PC is active.

Question 3

Do I need any external power to use it?

Accepted Answer

No external power is required—it's powered through the USB connection from your PCs. If you’re using power-hungry USB devices, a powered hub might help.

Question 4

Will it work with Windows and macOS, and what about printers/scanners?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, yes—the device is plug-and-play for keyboards/mice across Windows and macOS (and Linux). Printers and scanners may require their host OS drivers.

Question 5

Is this a good buy for a two-PC setup, and what should I watch out for?

Accepted Answer

For simple USB sharing, it’s a solid, space-saving choice with good reviews. If you need to switch displays or rely on specific printers/scanners, or require video support, consider a video KVM or test compatibility before purchase. Return policies and warranties vary by retailer, so check the seller’s terms.
