Question 1

Is this toothpaste safe if my pet swallows it during brushing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. Virbac C.E.T. toothpaste is specifically formulated to be safe for pets to ingest. Its enzymatic action works without the need for rinsing, which is perfect for pet dental care. Many reviewers specifically chose this brand for this safety feature.

Question 2

My pet is very picky. Will they actually like the poultry flavor?

Accepted Answer

The poultry flavor is widely accepted, with countless reviewers noting their pets look forward to brushing. However, taste is individual. Some pets, particularly certain cats, may reject it. If your pet is notoriously finicky, introducing it slowly as a treat first might help. For alternatives, you could explore other vet-recommended brands with different flavor profiles.

Question 3

How often should I use this toothpaste, and how long will a 2.5 oz tube last?

Accepted Answer

For optimal plaque control, daily brushing is recommended. A single 2.5 oz tube typically lasts 2-3 months for one average-sized dog with daily use. While some users note the upfront cost, the overwhelming feedback is that its effectiveness provides excellent value, preventing costly dental cleanings.

Question 4

Do I have to use a toothbrush, or can I just apply it to their teeth?

Accepted Answer

For maximum effectiveness against plaque and tartar buildup, mechanical brushing is essential. The toothpaste is designed to work with the brushing action. If your pet resists a brush, many TikTok pet owners have had success starting with a finger brush or applying it to a dental wipe to get them accustomed to the routine.

Question 5

I see some foaming when I use it. Is that normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, mild foaming is completely normal and is a sign the enzymatic ingredients are activating. It's not harmful. This is a common point of confusion for first-time users, as mentioned in several online forums, but it's simply part of how the toothpaste works to break down plaque.
