Question 1

Will my phone fit with a case on, and is the sizing accurate for newer models like the iPhone 17 Pro Max or Samsung S26 Ultra?

Accepted Answer

The YOSH pouch is designed for phones up to 7 inches, but many users on TikTok and Reddit report that phones with thick cases—especially bulky OtterBox or Samsung Ultra models—require removing the case first. For the iPhone 17 Pro Max or S26 Ultra, it fits snugly without a case, but expect a tight squeeze if you keep a thin silicone protector on. To be safe, we recommend testing the fit at home with your exact phone and case combination before taking it out.

Question 2

Does the touchscreen actually work through the pouch, especially underwater?

Accepted Answer

The membrane allows basic touchscreen use, but don’t expect smooth scrolling or typing—many reviews note that it’s sluggish, and the screen becomes unresponsive when fully submerged. For quick photo snaps or answering a call above water, it works fine. For texting or navigating maps, you’ll likely need to remove the phone. A tip from YouTube users: wet your finger slightly for better conductivity on the plastic.

Question 3

How reliable is the waterproof seal, and can I trust it for snorkeling or diving?

Accepted Answer

While the pouch has an IPX8 rating and works for shallow swimming and rain, several buyers report leakage after repeated uses, especially when diving deeper than 3 feet or staying submerged for long periods. The clip seal can weaken over time. For casual pool use or kayaking in calm water, it’s a solid budget pick. For serious snorkeling or deep-water activities, many users recommend upgrading to a hard-shell waterproof case or a dry bag with a reinforced seal.

Question 4

Does the pouch float, and is the lanyard durable enough for activities like kayaking?

Accepted Answer

The pouch itself doesn’t float, but the included lanyard keeps it tethered to your wrist or neck. Unfortunately, the plastic clip on the lanyard is a common weak spot—multiple reviews mention it snapping after a few uses. For kayaking or paddleboarding, we suggest attaching a secondary floating strap or carabiner for extra security. The lanyard length is good for crossbody wear on the beach, but it’s short for deep snorkeling.

Question 5

What about audio quality for videos and calls—is it muffled?

Accepted Answer

Yes, audio quality is the most frequent complaint on social media. Videos recorded inside the pouch sound muffled and echoey, especially in windy or underwater settings. Phone calls are hard to hear in noisy environments like the beach or a boat. If you’re planning to vlog or take calls, this isn’t the best choice. For silent photo-taking or music playback via headphones, you won’t notice the issue.
