Many users with medium-to-high pile rugs found the machine difficult to push and noticed the rug stayed wet for too long. For best results, we recommend using the “Hard Floor” setting for sealed surfaces and testing the “Area Rug” setting on a small, inconspicuous corner first.

How wet will my floors be after using it, and how long does drying take?**

The CrossWave HF2 uses a dual-tank system to dispense fresh water and suck up the dirty solution, but it isn’t a dry vacuum. On hard floors, the surface will be damp for roughly 10–20 minutes, depending on humidity and air circulation. You can minimize wetness by using the “Express Clean” mode and squeezing the trigger sparingly. A quick walk behind it with a microfiber dry mop can also help prevent streaks.

Is the self-cleaning cycle really maintenance-free?**

The self-cleaning cycle is a great feature for maintaining the brush roll and internal path, but it's not completely hands-off. For daily maintenance, you can run the self-clean after each use. However, pet hair and long human hair will still collect around the brush roll bearings, and you’ll need to manually remove that buildup every few uses. You should also dump and rinse the dirty water tank after each session to prevent odors.
