Question 1

Will this actually work with the seatback screens on my next flight?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in nearly all cases. The Avantree Relay is designed specifically for this purpose. It plugs into the standard 3.5mm headphone jack found on most airline seatback entertainment systems. We recommend bringing a short 3.5mm audio cable (not included) for a more secure and tidy connection, as some Reddit users have noted it can sit loosely in deeper jacks.

Question 2

I want to use my AirPods with my non-Bluetooth TV at home. Is this a good permanent solution?

Accepted Answer

It can work, but with a key limitation. The Relay is a fantastic portable transmitter, but it must be unplugged to recharge its battery (it doesn't transmit while charging). For a permanent TV setup, many users on forums suggest a dedicated Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into a USB port for constant power. The Relay is ideal for portable use like travel, gym equipment, or temporary TV setups.

Question 3

How does the "aptX Low Latency" feature help, and when won't it work?

Accepted Answer

aptX Low Latency significantly reduces audio delay, making sure sound matches the video perfectly—essential for movies and gaming. It works when your *source device* (like a modern iPad) and your *headphones* both support it. If either device doesn't support it, you'll use standard Bluetooth, which some TikTok reviewers noted can have a slight lag on older tablets or TVs, making it less ideal for competitive gaming.

Question 4

What's the real battery life, especially when sharing audio with two headphones?

Accepted Answer

Based on aggregated user reports, you can expect about 6-7 hours of continuous use with one pair of headphones, and closer to 5 hours when streaming to two pairs simultaneously. While slightly less than the maximum advertised 8 hours, most travelers find this more than sufficient for long-haul flights. The quick-charge feature (1 hour for ~2 hours of use) is a popular backup plan.

Question 5

I've read some reviews about build quality. How durable is it, and what if it stops working?

Accepted Answer

The vast majority of our customers report reliable long-term use. The device has a sturdy aluminum casing, but as with any frequently plugged/unplugged portable device, we recommend handling the USB-C port with care. Avantree offers an 18-month warranty and responsive customer support. If you encounter any issues, simply reach out to our support team with your order details for assistance.
