Question 1

Is this product a substitute for a veterinary visit and prescription?

Accepted Answer

It is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Daiasns Ear Drops are an effective over-the-counter solution for providing relief from itching, mild inflammation, and routine cleaning. However, as many pet owners on forums note, a true bacterial or severe yeast infection often requires prescription-strength medication. We always recommend consulting your vet for a proper diagnosis, especially for persistent or severe symptoms.

Question 2

How quickly should I expect to see results, and what if it doesn't seem to work?

Accepted Answer

Many reviewers report seeing a reduction in scratching and head shaking within a few days, with clearer ears in about a week when used as directed for minor issues. If you see no improvement after 5-7 days, or if symptoms worsen (increased redness, odor, or discomfort), it's crucial to stop use and consult your veterinarian. This may indicate a deeper infection requiring different treatment.

Question 3

My pet has very sensitive ears. Is this formula gentle or could it cause irritation?

Accepted Answer

The formula is designed to be soothing, with hydrocortisone to reduce inflammation. While the vast majority of pets tolerate it well, a small number of owners on social media have noted their sensitive pets reacted with increased redness. We recommend testing a single drop on the outer ear first and monitoring for 24 hours. If any adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use.

Question 4

What's the best way to use these drops on a squirmy pet, and how long does a bottle last?

Accepted Answer

Application can be tricky! Tips from experienced users include warming the bottle in your hands first (cold drops startle pets), gently massaging the base of the ear after application, and offering a high-value treat afterward. The 2 oz bottle is typically sufficient for a full treatment course of a mild issue. For pets with chronic, recurring problems, some owners mention it's more of a maintenance product, and the bottle may be used up more quickly.

Question 5

Can I use this for both yeast and bacterial ear infections?

Accepted Answer

The formula is designed to help address symptoms common to both types of infections—like itching, redness, and discharge—thanks to its anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties. It is frequently praised by users for tackling yeasty, smelly ears effectively. However, it contains no prescription antibiotics or antifungals. For confirmed or stubborn bacterial infections, a vet-prescribed product is usually necessary, as noted in some customer reviews.
