Question 1

Will this case fit my AirPods Pro 1st Gen (2019) or just the newest 2nd Gen?

Accepted Answer

It's designed to fit all three versions of AirPods Pro: the 1st Gen (2019), 2nd Gen (2022), and the latest 2nd Gen (2023). The cutouts align perfectly with the charging port, speaker grille, and button on each model. If you have the newer 2nd Gen with Find My, just note the case covers the built-in speaker—so you won't hear the Find My chime if you lose your case.

Question 2

Is the magnetic lid strong enough to stay closed in a bag or backpack?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the lid uses a strong magnetic closure that stays securely shut when tossed into a bag, pocket, or backpack. However, as some Reddit users have pointed out, if you drop the case from hand height onto a hard surface, the impact can sometimes pop the lid open and eject an AirPod. For everyday carry in a bag, it's totally reliable, but it's not a guaranteed lock in a serious drop.

Question 3

Does this case work with MagSafe and regular wireless chargers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's fully compatible with MagSafe, Apple's MagSafe Duo Charger, and standard Qi wireless pads. The magnets in the case align perfectly with MagSafe chargers, and you'll get the satisfying snap-on effect. The case also supports wired charging via the Lightning port if you prefer that.

Question 4

How bulky is this case compared to a thin silicone skin?

Accepted Answer

It's noticeably thicker and more protective than a skin or a slim snap-on case. It adds about 3–4mm around all sides, so it won't slide as easily into a tight jeans pocket. Many TikTok users recommend it if you often toss your AirPods into a bag or purse, but if you're all about pocket carry, a slimmer option might feel better.

Question 5

Does the case wear down over time—does the hinge get loose?

Accepted Answer

The build quality is solid for the price, with a hard polycarbonate body and a metal hinge. That said, a handful of long-term reviewers on Reddit noted the hinge can feel slightly looser after six to twelve months of daily use—the lid still stays closed, but the "snap" isn't as tight as new. For the drop protection it offers, most users feel it still holds up well for a full year or more.
