Question 1

Will the ESR Geo Digital iPad Pencil work with my iPad Pro M4 (2024) or the latest iPad Air 13?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this pencil is compatible with all iPad models from 2018 through 2026, including the iPad Pro M4 (2024), iPad Air 13 (M2), and iPad 10th/9th/8th generations. However, it only supports wireless charging on models that have a magnetic charging spot—for older iPads or the iPad 10, you'll need to plug it in via USB-C. Many TikTok users recommend checking ESR's official compatibility chart to avoid surprises.

Question 2

How reliable is the Find My tracking feature? Does it work in real-time?

Accepted Answer

The Find My integration works, but it's not as instant as tracking an AirTag—it updates every few minutes rather than in real-time. Reddit users mention it's best for finding a lost pencil when you know the general area (like a bedroom or bag), not for precise pinpointing. If you're extremely forgetful, it's still a lifesaver compared to a standard stylus, but expect a small delay.

Question 3

Does the pencil have good palm rejection for drawing or note-taking?

Accepted Answer

The palm rejection is solid for note-taking and casual sketching, but some YouTube reviewers report occasional ghost lines during long drawing sessions. The tip is replaceable, and ESR includes a spare in the box. For daily classroom or office use, most users find it perfectly adequate—just don't expect Apple Pencil-level precision for professional digital art.

Question 4

Can I charge it while I'm using it, and what's the battery life like?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can use it while charging via USB-C (passthrough charging). The battery lasts around 8–10 hours of continuous use, which translates to about a full week of normal note-taking sessions. Several Amazon reviewers noted that the battery indicator is accurate and the pencil auto-sleeps after 5 minutes of inactivity to save power.

Question 5

Is this a good gift for a student or child, or should I buy the Apple Pencil instead?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely—this is a fantastic gift for students, especially middle or high schoolers. It's 90% as functional as an Apple Pencil at half the price, and the Find My feature is a lifesaver for kids who misplace things. The main trade-offs are no wireless charging and slightly less palm rejection precision for art. For any parent worried about losing a $120 Apple Pencil, the ESR Geo is the smarter buy. If the recipient is a serious artist or needs the full iPad Pro "ecosystem," go with Apple's Pencil (USB-C).
