Some users also fold a piece of butcher paper between the bag and the bone for extra protection. The guards work best for small poultry bones; for large, very sharp cuts, pat dry and double-wrap.

However, for best texture and taste, we recommend consuming vacuum-sealed food within 6 months. If you see ice crystals forming, it usually means the bag wasn’t fully sealed or you had a tiny puncture.
