Question 1

Will these filters fit my 17.5" x 23.5" furnace slot, or will they be loose?

Accepted Answer

They are designed to fit standard 17.5" x 23.5" slots. Please note the "Actual Size" is 17.38" x 23.38" x 0.75" to allow for easy insertion. The vast majority of reviewers find the fit to be perfect and snug. However, if your slot is an exact, true 17.5" x 23.5" with no wiggle room, you may find a slight gap. We recommend measuring your existing filter or the slot itself before ordering.

Question 2

I have bad allergies and pets. Is MERV 8 enough, or should I get a higher rating?

Accepted Answer

MERV 8 is an excellent balance for general household use, effectively capturing dust, lint, pollen, and pet hair/dander. Many pet owners on social media praise its performance for reducing airborne fur. For severe allergies to smaller particles like mold spores or smoke, a MERV 11 or 13 filter would provide stronger filtration. However, always check your HVAC system's manual, as higher MERV filters can restrict airflow if your system isn't designed for them.

Question 3

How do these compare to brands like Filtrete I can buy at the hardware store?

Accepted Answer

Based on countless user comparisons online, Filterbuy filters offer comparable or better performance for dust and allergens at a significantly lower cost. The main difference noted by reviewers is that some store-brand filters may have a slightly more rigid frame, but Filterbuy's pleated electrostatic material receives equal or higher marks for actual filtration. The value of the 4-pack and subscription option is a major advantage highlighted by Reddit and TikTok users.

Question 4

What if my filters arrive bent or damaged?

Accepted Answer

While our packaging is designed for protection, shipping damage can occasionally occur. If your filters arrive bent or with crushed corners, please contact our customer support team immediately. We will promptly send out replacements. A helpful tip from users: gently flexing a slightly bent filter back into shape often works, but we're here to ensure you get a usable product.

Question 5

Who are these filters best suited for?

Accepted Answer

These are the ideal, no-fuss choice for most households! They are particularly popular with:
* Pet owners looking to control floating hair and dander.
* Budget-aware homeowners seeking reliable performance without the premium price tag.
* Anyone wanting to reduce general dust on surfaces and in the air.
* People who value convenience and use our subscription for automatic delivery every 3 months.

If you have a very old HVAC system, require surgical-grade air filtration, or have an exact-size slot with zero tolerance, you might consider a custom size or consult an HVAC professional.
