Question 1

Is this keyboard truly hot-swappable? Can I use my own Cherry MX switches?

Accepted Answer

It is hot-swappable, but for a specific type of switch. The ACE 68 Pro uses proprietary magnetic (Hall Effect) switches. This means you can easily pull out and replace a switch if it fails, but you can only swap in other compatible magnetic switches from JOMKIZ/MCHOSE, not standard mechanical switches like Cherry MX. This is a key point many Reddit users highlight for those with a collection of aftermarket switches.

Question 2

How does the "Rapid Trigger" feature benefit me in games, and is it a gimmick?

Accepted Answer

It's not a gimmick; it's a game-changer for competitive titles. Rapid Trigger allows a key to reset for a new input the moment you start releasing it, not when it returns fully. This lets you perform actions like strafing or trigger-spamming significantly faster. Reviews from FPS players on YouTube consistently praise this for giving them a tangible edge in games like *Valorant* or *Counter-Strike*.

Question 3

I use a Mac. Is this keyboard fully compatible, and does the customization software work on macOS?

Accepted Answer

The keyboard will work as a basic input device on Mac. However, the advanced customization software for RGB lighting, macros, and actuation settings is currently Windows-only. If deep customization is important to you on a Mac, this is a major limitation noted by several users.

Question 4

What's the build quality like? I've seen mixed comments about keycap wobble and software bugs.

Accepted Answer

The internal magnetic switch technology is top-tier, but the external build is where you see the cost-saving. The plastic case is solid, but some units may have minor inconsistencies like keycap wobble or a rattly stabilizer. The companion software, while powerful, has been reported by some users to be buggy or unintuitive. The consensus is you're paying primarily for the exceptional gaming performance inside.

Question 5

Who is this keyboard best suited for, and who might want to look elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

This keyboard is a perfect fit for PC gamers on a budget who want professional-grade magnetic switch performance (Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation) without the premium price tag. You might want to consider an alternative if: you're a Mac user needing full software support (look at Keychron), a keyboard enthusiast wanting to customize with standard parts, or someone who prioritizes flawless out-of-the-box build quality and polished software over pure value-for-performance.
