Question 1

How effective is this trap for a larger room or open-concept kitchen?

Accepted Answer

This trap is designed for targeted, small-area use—ideally right next to a fruit bowl, sink, or plant. Many buyers mention it works best within 2–3 feet, so a large kitchen may need two units placed strategically. If you're battling a major infestation across a whole room, consider a larger commercial trap or multiple LFSYS units.

Question 2

Are the refills easy to replace, and how long does each one last?

Accepted Answer

The sticky boards can be a bit fiddly to insert without touching the glue—TikTok users recommend peeling the backing slowly and using tweezers to avoid sticky fingers. Each refill typically lasts 2–3 weeks depending on how many gnats you catch. The kit includes 10 refills, so you're covered for about 5–7 months.

Question 3

Is this safe to use around pets and children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The trap uses a low-voltage UV light and a non-toxic adhesive board—no zapping, chemicals, or odors. The device stays cool to the touch. Just make sure curious pets or kids can't peel off the sticky pad, as the adhesive is very strong.

Question 4

The product is called a "fly trap"—will it catch regular house flies or mosquitoes?

Accepted Answer

Honest answer: this is really designed for tiny flying insects like fruit flies, gnats, and fungus gnats. It won't attract or trap larger house flies, wasps, or mosquitoes. The name is a bit optimistic—think of it as a gnat trap and you'll be happy. Several reviewers mention they switched to broad-spectrum traps for house flies after being disappointed.

Question 5

What's the return policy if it doesn't work for my space?

Accepted Answer

Amazon typically honors a 30-day return window for this item if you buy through them. The manufacturer also offers a support email for replacements of defective units. For best results, start by placing it exactly where you see the most gnats—many users initially placed it too far from the problem area and were disappointed until they moved it closer.
