Question 1

Will this heatsink fit inside a PS5, and does it work with double-sided SSDs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it’s designed for the PS5’s M.2 slot and fits most standard 2280 drives. However, many TikTok and Reddit users note that while the product claims double-sided support, the bottom thermal pad may not provide full contact for some double-sided SSDs. For best results, it’s ideal for single-sided drives. If you have a double-sided model, double-check your drive’s chip thickness before installing.

Question 2

What thickness are the included thermal pads? Can I reuse them if I remove the heatsink?

Accepted Answer

The pads are roughly 1.5mm thick and pre-cut to fit 2280 drives. They are single-use; once removed, they lose adhesion and thermal efficiency. Several reviewers recommend buying spare pads if you plan to reseat the heatsink later. For a secure fit, apply gentle, even pressure during installation.

Question 3

I’m worried about the build quality—some reviews mention bent fins or poor alignment. Is this common?

Accepted Answer

A small percentage of customers have reported fin damage from shipping, or screws that don’t align perfectly with the motherboard. That said, over 1,200 ratings still give it 4.6 stars, so most units arrive intact and functional. If yours arrives damaged, the seller typically offers a replacement, so contact customer support first.

Question 4

Will this lower my SSD temperatures noticeably?

Accepted Answer

Yes, most users report a 10–15°C drop under heavy gaming or file transfers compared to running without a heatsink. For example, a PS5 SSD running at 70°C can drop to around 55°C. It’s not the premium performance of a clip-on heatsink, but for the price, it’s very effective.

Question 5

I’m a beginner—is this easy to install? What else do I need to buy?

Accepted Answer

Installation is straightforward: peel the pad liner, stick the heatsink to your SSD, and mount the drive. No tools beyond your PC/PS5’s existing screwdriver are needed. Just ensure your motherboard or PS5 has enough clearance (about 6mm height). Many YouTube tutorials show the whole process in under two minutes.
