Question 1

How strong is the magnetic backing? What will it realistically hold on my fridge?

Accepted Answer

The magnetic force is designed for lightweight, flat items. It works perfectly for holding photos, children's drawings, recipe cards, and paper notes on a fridge or magnetic board. However, as noted in several online reviews, it's not suited for heavier objects like thick ceramic tiles or tools. For those, individual, stronger magnets are recommended.

Question 2

Can I print directly onto these sheets, and is the adhesive removable if I make a mistake?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many users on crafting forums successfully use these in their inkjet printers. Always test one sheet first! Regarding the adhesive, it's very strong and is designed to be permanent on smooth surfaces. It's not easily repositionable, so we recommend measuring and aligning carefully before sticking it down to avoid wasting a sheet.

Question 3

Are the sheets truly flexible? Can I use them on a curved surface like a water bottle?

Accepted Answer

They are bendable but not pliable like rubber. You can gently curve them to conform to a slight curve, but they are best suited for flat surfaces. Attempting to wrap them tightly around a small cylinder (like a bottle) will likely cause creasing and the adhesive may not bond properly, which is a common point of feedback from DIY project videos.

Question 4

What's the best way to cut these sheets without the edges fraying?

Accepted Answer

For the cleanest cut, use a very sharp craft knife or a rotary cutter with a metal ruler on a cutting mat. Standard scissors can work but may sometimes cause slight fraying of the magnetic material. Applying firm, even pressure helps keep the magnetic layer and adhesive backing together neatly.

Question 5

Who are these magnetic sheets best suited for, and who might want to look for an alternative?

Accepted Answer

These are an excellent, affordable choice for crafters, teachers, parents, and anyone looking to create custom lightweight magnets for photos, notes, or organizing paper items. If your project involves very heavy objects, requires coverage of a large area (like a wall), or needs to conform to a highly curved surface, you might want to explore alternatives like individual ceramic magnets, magnetic rolls, or flexible rubber magnetic sheeting.
