Question 1

Is the mattress too firm at first, and will it soften up?

Accepted Answer

Many new owners notice an initial firmness. This is completely normal! The foam layers require a "break-in" period of 30-60 days of regular use to fully conform to your body. We recommend giving it at least a month. If it still feels too firm after that, our return window gives you plenty of time to decide.

Question 2

I sleep hot and am worried about foam mattresses. How breathable is this one?

Accepted Answer

Great question. Our hybrid design is key here. The Smarts Coils allow for significant airflow through the core, which most all-foam beds lack. The top comfort layers are also designed to be breathable. While it's not an active cooling mattress, many hot sleepers find it sleeps temperature-neutral. For extra assurance, pairing it with breathable bamboo or cotton sheets is a popular tip from our community.

Question 3

Do I need a box spring, and how is the edge support for sitting?

Accepted Answer

No box spring is needed! The mattress works perfectly on any solid, flat surface (platform bed, slatted base with slats ≤ 3 inches apart, adjustable base, or even the floor). Regarding edge support: the perimeter is reinforced, but as a hybrid mattress focused on pressure relief, it may compress more than a traditional innerspring if you sit on the edge for extended periods. For daily activities like putting on shoes, it's perfectly fine.

Question 4

Is it truly fiberglass-free and safe for my family?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. This is a core commitment for us. The Novilla 12" Queen mattress is completely fiberglass-free. It's also CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning the foams are made without harmful chemicals like ozone depleters, heavy metals, or formaldehyde. You can unzip the removable cover and wash it with complete peace of mind.

Question 5

How does the risk-free trial actually work? Is it a hassle to return?

Accepted Answer

Our 100-night trial is designed to be stress-free. If you're not satisfied after the 30-day break-in period, you can contact us to initiate a return. We'll arrange for a local charity to pick up the mattress from your home at no cost to you—no need to repack it. Once the pickup is confirmed, you'll receive a full refund. Our goal is to make sure you find the right mattress, hassle-free.
