Question 1

Is the thread a true 0.8mm thickness, and is it strong enough for projects like kumihimo or macrame?

Accepted Answer

Many users find this nylon thread to be slightly thinner than a rigid 0.8mm, offering a soft and pliable feel perfect for friendship bracelets, lightweight ornaments, and basic braiding. For heavy-duty macrame plant hangers or weight-bearing kumihimo projects, some advanced crafters recommend a stiffer cord like S-Lon. For most beginner-to-intermediate decorative crafts, its strength is highly praised.

Question 2

How much thread do I actually receive? Is it 250 yards total or per spool?

Accepted Answer

You receive 250 yards *on each individual spool*. The set includes 25 separate spools (one of each color), for a total of over 6,000 yards. This is a fantastic value, but we mention it clearly as some shoppers initially thought the 250-yard measurement was for the entire collection.

Question 3

Are the colors accurate to the product photos online?

Accepted Answer

Colors can vary slightly from screen to screen. Based on social media reviews, some shades (like certain greens or purples) may be brighter or more muted in person. We recommend checking customer-uploaded photos for the most accurate representation. Overall, the 25-color variety is consistently celebrated for offering a great creative palette.

Question 4

I've seen comments about the thread tangling. Is this a common issue?

Accepted Answer

Some crafters do report that the thread can tangle on the small spool or fray when cut. To minimize this, use sharp scissors and consider using a bobbin or thread holder. This characteristic is part of what makes the thread so soft. For a completely tangle-free experience, some users prefer thread wound on cones, though this set remains the top choice for its unbeatable price-per-color value.

Question 5

Who is this product best suited for, and who might want to look for an alternative?

Accepted Answer

This set is ideal for beginners, casual crafters, parents, and teachers making friendship bracelets, holiday decorations, simple knots, and other lightweight crafts. It's loved for its softness, vast color range, and affordability. If you are a professional or advanced crafter working on structural pieces, heavy outdoor items, or require absolute thickness consistency, you might prefer a specialized, premium-grade cord.
