Question 1

How hot does the steam function actually get? I've seen mixed feedback on TikTok about it being lukewarm.

Accepted Answer

Good question. The heating technology warms the water to around 140°F – hot enough to loosen fresh stains and daily grime, but not boiling steam like full-sized carpet cleaners. Many users find it works well for coffee spills or muddy paw prints. For set-in stains, we recommend pre-treating or using the hot water setting (not steam) for a longer dwell time. It's not a replacement for a commercial steamer, but it beats cold water cleaning for everyday messes.

Question 2

I have two golden retrievers and a lot of pet hair. Will the brush roll get tangled easily?

Accepted Answer

You're not alone in worrying about this – it's the top complaint we see from pet owners. The brush roll does catch long hair, especially during deep upholstery cleaning. The good news is the roller is designed to pop out easily with a side latch, so combing out hair takes about 30 seconds. For heavy shedding, we'd suggest vacuuming the area first, then using the "tools only" mode (without the brush spinning) for initial hair pickup, then switching to the brush for scrubbing.

Question 3

Is this machine good for cleaning car interiors, or should I look at alternatives like the Bissell SpotClean?

Accepted Answer

For car interiors, the Starrybot is actually a solid choice because it's lightweight (under 10 lbs) and has a compact handheld tool. Many car detailers on YouTube have used it for seat stains and floor mats. However, if you're cleaning a large SUV or truck regularly, the smaller water tank (about 40 oz) means refills. The Bissell SpotClean has a longer hose, which is better for reaching rear footwells. For sedans and hatchbacks, this cleaner does the job nicely.

Question 4

Can I use my own carpet cleaning solution, or does it require Starrybot brand chemicals?

Accepted Answer

Great question. The machine works perfectly fine with any low-foam carpet cleaning solution – you're not locked into a proprietary brand. Many users mix their own with warm water and a splash of vinegar for light maintenance. Just avoid thick, high-foam detergents (like laundry soap) as they can clog the spray nozzle. A quick tip from the community: using a slightly hotter water mix (not boiling) helps activate generic cleaners better.

Question 5

What's the return policy if I buy it and it doesn't handle dried-on pet stains?

Accepted Answer

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you've tried the machine on a few stains and it doesn't meet your expectations, you can return it for a full refund (just keep the original packaging). For dried-on stains, here's a pro trick many users share: spray the area with warm water first, let it sit 5 minutes to rehydrate the stain, then use the steam function with slow passes. If that still doesn't work within the first month, absolutely reach out to us for a return – no hassle.
