Question 1

Will The Original Spit Catcher fit my specific instrument—trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, or tuba?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it’s designed to work with most brass and woodwind instruments. The pad measures approximately 6 x 5.5 inches, which fits nicely under trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, and even trombone spit valves. For larger instruments like tubas, many users report it works well, though a few have mentioned they’d like an extra-large version. If you’re unsure, check the reviews for your specific instrument—they’re very detailed and helpful.

Question 2

How do I clean it, and can I reuse it multiple times?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely—it’s reusable and built to last. For light use, simply rinse it under warm water and let it air dry. For heavier buildup, hand wash with mild soap first, then toss it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach or fabric softener. Many TikTok users recommend letting it air dry completely before packing it back into your instrument case to avoid any musty smells.

Question 3

Does it really prevent leaks and keep my floor completely dry?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that’s the main reason people love it. The multi-layer design includes a leakproof backing that traps all moisture inside, so your floor, carpet, or instrument case stays bone dry. Hundreds of reviews confirm this works even during long practice sessions. Just make sure the pad is positioned correctly under your spit valve before you start playing.

Question 4

How does it compare to using a regular towel or cloth?

Accepted Answer

Regular towels don’t have the leakproof backing, so moisture can soak through and ruin your floor or case. The Spit Catcher’s layers are designed specifically for this purpose—they wick moisture away, hold it in, and fold up neatly for travel. One reviewer mentioned they tried a cheap towel alternative first and ended up buying this anyway. It’s a small investment for a much cleaner, frustration-free experience.

Question 5

Is there a return or refund policy if it doesn’t work for my instrument?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the company stands behind the product. If it doesn’t fit your instrument or meet your expectations, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund. Just contact Brasstache directly, and they’ll guide you through the process. Many buyers mention the customer service is quick and helpful, so there’s very little risk in giving it a try.
