Question 1

What exactly is the "mochi" texture, and will it be too harsh for my acne-prone skin?

Accepted Answer

The texture is a soft, jelly-like solid that melts into a creamy lather—think squishy rice cake rather than gritty scrub. While we formulate it to be gentle for daily use, many users on TikTok and Reddit advise caution if you have active acne or broken skin. The physical exfoliation can irritate inflamed breakouts, so we recommend patch testing first and using it 3-4 times a week if you're acne-prone. For daily cleansing, stick to your regular gel cleanser and save this for a soothing, hydrating treat.

Question 2

Does it really minimize pores and remove blackheads like the listing says?

Accepted Answer

Honest answer: it helps decongest pores over time thanks to the rice water and green tea extracts, but it's not a pore vacuum. User reviews on YouTube show modest improvement with consistent use (2–3 weeks), but don't expect instant blackhead extraction. The mochi texture does a nice job loosening surface-level debris. For deeper blackheads, many fans pair this with a weekly clay mask. If you're expecting dramatic, instant results, this may not meet your expectations.

Question 3

I've heard mixed reviews about residue—will it leave a film on my face?

Accepted Answer

This is our most common concern from social media community feedback. The rice water and mochi base do leave a very slight, silky finish—similar to a hydrating toner—if you don't rinse thoroughly. For most people with dry or normal skin, this feels moisturizing, not sticky. Those with oily skin sometimes find it too heavy. Our tip: splash your face with warm water 3–4 times and pat dry. If you still feel residue, skip this product and try a lighter rice-based toner instead.

Question 4

How does this compare to the Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm or COSRX Low pH Cleanser?

Accepted Answer

Great question because they're often confused. This Arencia cleanser is a unique solid-to-lather formula focused on hydration plus gentle exfoliation, while Beauty of Joseon is an oil-based balm for makeup removal. COSRX is a foam cleanser with a lower pH for sensitive, acne-prone skin. If you love sensory experiences and don't mind a slightly heavier finish, go with Arencia. If you need a deep oil cleanse or have very reactive skin, pick the other two. Many Reddit users recommend having both—this for dry-skin days and a low-pH gel for regular use.

Question 5

What's the return policy if this causes breakouts or doesn't work for my skin type?

Accepted Answer

We understand skin routine changes can be risky. The return policy typically allows for refunds within 30 days of purchase, provided the product is unused or only lightly tested. However, based on buyer discussions, some third-party sellers (like Amazon) may have stricter policies. Always check the "Sold by" section and the store's return window before buying. If you're worried about reactions, start with the travel-size version—it's much more affordable if it doesn't work out, and you'll get a better sense of the texture without a full bottle commitment.
