Question 1

Will the 12-inch screen be too big or create a glare problem in my car?

Accepted Answer

The large screen is a major benefit for visibility, significantly reducing blind spots. However, like many mirror-style dash cams, it can be reflective in bright, direct sunlight. Many users on forums suggest adjusting the screen's angle or using the included anti-glare film to mitigate this. It's a trade-off for the excellent, wide-angle view it provides.

Question 2

Is it difficult to set up the 24-hour parking mode? What do I need?

Accepted Answer

The parking mode feature itself works very well, but proper setup requires the included hardwiring kit to be connected to your car's fuse box for continuous power. While many tech-savvy users install it themselves following online tutorials, several Reddit users have recommended professional installation if you're unfamiliar with automotive electronics, as incorrect installation can drain your car battery.

Question 3

How reliable is the WiFi and app for downloading videos?

Accepted Answer

The built-in WiFi allows you to connect your phone to the dash cam to view and download clips. While functional, it's not as fast or seamless as typical home WiFi. A common tip from TikTok and YouTube reviewers is to use the app primarily for quick video reviews and settings changes. For transferring large numbers of files, removing the microSD card and using a computer is often faster and more reliable.

Question 4

Does this dash cam fit all car models, and how secure is the mount?

Accepted Answer

The PG17 uses a universal clip that attaches over your existing rearview mirror, fitting most standard mirrors. It's designed for a secure fit, and most users report a stable installation. A few have noted minor vibration on extremely rough roads, which can be minimized by ensuring the clamp is very tight and the rear camera cable is properly routed to avoid pulling on the unit.

Question 5

Who is this dash cam best suited for, and what's the real standout feature?

Accepted Answer

This dash cam is ideal for drivers who prioritize superior video evidence (4K front/1080p rear) and want the safety advantage of a large display to see directly behind their vehicle. Its standout feature, praised repeatedly in reviews, is the Reverse Assist—it automatically turns the entire screen into a crystal-clear rearview camera when you shift into reverse, making parking much easier and safer.
