Question 1

Are these comfortable for all-day wear, especially if I wear glasses?

Accepted Answer

The Solo 4 are praised for being ultra-lightweight, and most users find them very comfortable. However, as an on-ear design, they do apply some clamp pressure. Feedback from social media and reviews is mixed: many users with glasses or larger heads report they can feel "snug" during sessions longer than 2-3 hours, while others have no issues. If you prioritize all-day, pressure-free comfort, you might want to consider over-ear headphones.

Question 2

How is the build quality, particularly the folding hinges?

Accepted Answer

The headphones are lightweight and portable, which is a major plus. However, a common point mentioned in user discussions is that the plastic folding hinges can feel less robust than the metal used on some competitors. While not widespread, some long-term users note slight creaking. They are designed for daily use and portability, but if you're particularly rough on your gear, handling them with care around the hinges is advisable.

Question 3

Do they have active noise cancellation (ANC)?

Accepted Answer

No, the Beats Solo 4 do not feature Active Noise Cancellation. They rely on passive noise isolation from the ear cushions sealing around your ears. This is a key differentiator noted in many YouTube comparisons. If blocking out bus engines, office chatter, or airplane noise is your top priority, you may want to look at over-ear models with ANC, even within the Beats lineup like the Studio Pro.

Question 4

Are they a good value compared to other brands, and who are they best for?

Accepted Answer

Value depends on your priorities. The Solo 4 excel in battery life (a verified 50 hours), seamless Apple integration, and a stylish, portable design. They are best for Apple users, commuters, students, and anyone who values these features over having ANC. Tech reviewers often point out that if ANC and absolute sound fidelity are your main goals, brands like Sony or Sennheiser might offer more features for a similar price. You're investing in a specific user experience and ecosystem.

Question 5

What's included in the box, and what is the warranty/support like?

Accepted Answer

You get the headphones, a USB-C charging cable, and a soft carrying pouch (often described by users as a "drawstring" style case). A hard case is not included. Beats provides a standard one-year limited warranty. Support is handled through Apple, which generally receives positive marks for service. Many TikTok and Reddit users recommend purchasing from an authorized retailer for a smoother support process if needed.
