Question 1

I’ve seen mixed reviews about the non-stick coating. How long does the inner pot actually last with regular use?

Accepted Answer

It’s a fair concern. Most users get 8–12 months of solid non-stick performance before noticing wear, especially if they use silicone or wooden utensils. Hand-washing and avoiding high-heat searing with metal tools will extend the life. For heavy daily users, some Reddit members recommend buying a spare inner pot ($15–20 on Amazon) or stepping up to a stainless steel model like the Instant Pot Duo for permanent durability.

Question 2

Is this a good replacement for both a rice cooker and a yogurt maker? Which function is actually better?

Accepted Answer

This is a popular topic on TikTok cooking demos. The yogurt function gets consistent praise—many beginners report first-time success with thick, creamy yogurt. However, the rice function is more of a “good enough” experience. Long-grain white rice tends to come out slightly softer than a dedicated rice cooker. If you eat rice daily, keep your rice cooker; if you want an all-in-one for occasional rice plus yogurt, stews, and steaming, this will serve you well.

Question 3

I saw some complaints about the pressure valve getting stuck. Is this a common problem or an isolated issue?

Accepted Answer

It’s not widespread, but it does happen. The valve can get sticky if starches or sugars splash up during cooking. Cleaning the valve and its silicone seal after each use (it pops out easily) prevents most issues. If you make a lot of sticky dishes like oatmeal or split pea soup, just rinse the valve mechanism immediately after releasing pressure. Customer service has sent replacement valves to those who reported jamming, though response times vary.

Question 4

How does this compare to the Instant Pot Duo? Which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

You’ll find this exact comparison in many Reddit pressure cooker threads. The COMFEE’ wins on price (often $20–30 cheaper) and includes a yogurt function that the base Duo lacks. Its non-stick pot is easier to clean for beginners. The Instant Pot Duo wins on durability with a stainless steel pot that never flakes, more community recipes, and faster customer support. If you’re on a tight budget or mainly want yogurt and stews, go COMFEE’. If you anticipate heavy daily use or want to keep the cooker for 4+ years, spend the extra on Instant Pot.

Question 5

Does the “12-in-1” really mean 12 distinct functions, or are some gimmicks?

Accepted Answer

That’s a smart question. The 12 functions are all separate modes: pressure cook, slow cook, rice, porridge, steam, sauté, yogurt, sterilization (baby bottles), keep warm, and three adjustable pressure levels. “Sterilization” and the multiple pressure levels stretch the count a little, but you aren’t getting 12 wildly different cooking methods. The core uses—pressure cooking, slow cooking, rice, yogurt, and sauté—all work well. Think of it as a solid 6-in-1 with extra settings rather than a magic 12-tool gadget.
