Question 1

Is this truly portable for camping, or is it too heavy?

Accepted Answer

The FREMO X700 is best described as "transportable" rather than "hand-portable." At 36 lbs, it's easy to move from your car to a campsite, RV, or patio, but it's not intended for backpacking. Most users love it for car-camping, tailgating, and as a home backup unit you can move from room to room.

Question 2

Does it come with a solar panel, or is that separate? Can I use my own?

Accepted Answer

The solar panel is an optional, separate purchase. The unit is compatible with most third-party solar panels, but for optimal and guaranteed performance, we recommend using our official FREMO solar panel (sold separately or in bundles). Always ensure any panel's open-circuit voltage (VOC) is within the X700's specified input range.

Question 3

Can it really power devices like a small refrigerator or a CPAP machine, and for how long?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The 662Wh capacity is excellent for essential devices. For example, it can run a typical 60W mini fridge for 8-10 hours, or a 40W CPAP machine (without humidifier) for over 15 hours on a single charge. We provide detailed runtime calculators on our product page to help you estimate based on your specific gear.

Question 4

I've seen comments about it shutting down with some appliances. What can it actually run?

Accepted Answer

The X700's 1000W (2000W surge) pure sine wave AC outlet handles most household electronics, lights, fans, and small kitchen appliances (like blenders or coffee makers) flawlessly. However, it may struggle with items that have very high starting *surge* watts, such as some space heaters, air compressors, or circular saws. It's perfect for sensitive electronics, camping gear, and backup power, but not for heavy-duty power tools.

Question 5

What's the advantage of the LiFePO4 battery, and how is the warranty handled?

Accepted Answer

The Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery is safer, more stable, and lasts significantly longer—over 2000 charge cycles—compared to standard lithium-ion. This means years more usable life. The unit comes with a comprehensive 5-year warranty. If you encounter any issues, our support team provides clear instructions, and the process is straightforward, a point many verified buyers have appreciated in their reviews.
