Question 1

I’ve seen TikTok users say the vacuum seal can fail after a day. How do I prevent air from leaking back into these bags?

Accepted Answer

That’s a common concern, and it usually comes down to valve and seal technique. First, make sure the valve cap is twisted fully clockwise until you hear a click—many leaks happen because it’s just hand-tight. Second, when sealing the bag, run your fingers along the closing strip twice, especially at the corners. If you’re using the electric pump, stop as soon as the bag is firm—over-pumping can stress the valve. For best results, store bags flat on a shelf (not piled under heavy boxes) to avoid valve pressure.

Question 2

The electric pump stopped working after two uses. Is there a warranty or replacement for defective pumps?

Accepted Answer

Yes, GONGSHI covers defective electric pumps under their warranty, though shipping times for replacements can be slow (up to 2 weeks). Some users on Reddit have had success contacting support via Amazon’s customer chat for a faster resolution. If you need a backup, the included manual pump works surprisingly well for small bags, and most standard household vacuums with a hose attachment can also remove air directly from the bag valve.

Question 3

A reviewer said the “jumbo” size isn’t big enough for a king comforter. What’s the actual fit for bulky bedding?

Accepted Answer

Smart question—size guides can be misleading. The largest bag (often called “jumbo”) measures roughly 27 x 39 inches after sealing. That fits a queen comforter if you fold it neatly, but a thick king comforter (like a down or feather one) usually requires two bags: one for each half. For pillows, one jumbo bag can hold 2 standard pillows. For best results, avoid stuffing corners—leave a few inches of slack so the seal doesn’t pull.

Question 4

Are these bags reusable for multiple seasons, or are they mostly single-use?

Accepted Answer

You can reuse them, but we recommend treating them as limited-use (2 to 3 cycles) if you want reliable sealing. The material is lightweight, so after a few vacuum-and-release cycles, the edges can stretch and the seal may weaken. Many budget-conscious travelers buy a second set instead of pushing reuse too far. Pro tip: keep the original seal strip clean and free of lint—it greatly extends bag life.

Question 5

I’m moving my dorm in a month. Are these better than the Ziploc Space Bags I see at the store?

Accepted Answer

For a low-cost move, these GONGSHI bags are a fine choice—they’re cheaper per bag than Ziploc and include an electric pump, so you can compress most wardrobe items quickly. However, if you’re packing heavy books or electronics, these aren’t designed for that. For durability, Ziploc Space Bags have stronger valves and are less likely to leak over a 6-month storage period. If you only need 6 bags for a dorm move, the GONGSHI 24-combo may be overkill—consider a smaller set to save shelf space.
