Question 1

Is the RAM truly upgradeable beyond the stock 24GB, and how difficult is the upgrade?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 24GB DDR5 is upgradeable to 32GB or even 64GB via two accessible SO-DIMM slots. Many TikTok and Reddit users confirm it's a straightforward process—just remove the bottom panel with a screwdriver, and you'll see the slots. No special tools or soldering required, though do check your warranty terms before opening.

Question 2

How does the RTX 5060 perform at the laptop's native 2K resolution with modern games?

Accepted Answer

The RTX 5060 handles 1440p gaming well, especially with DLSS enabled. At 2K resolution, you can expect 60–90 FPS on high settings in titles like *Cyberpunk 2077* and *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III*. The 165Hz refresh rate shines more in esports titles like *Valorant* or *Fortnite*, where you'll easily hit 120+ FPS. However, for ultra-settings in the latest AAA games, you may need to drop to 1080p or tweak graphics.

Question 3

I've seen complaints about the charging port failing—what's the story, and is there a fix?

Accepted Answer

A small but notable number of users report the charging port becoming loose or losing connection after a few weeks of use. This appears to be a manufacturing defect in certain units, not a design flaw across all models. If you experience this, HP's warranty covers port replacement. Some Reddit users recommend using a USB-C charger as a backup (if your model supports it) to reduce wear on the barrel plug.

Question 4

The build feels a bit plasticky—is it actually durable for daily use?

Accepted Answer

You're right that the chassis is primarily plastic, which some find surprising at this price point. That said, the plastic is thick and rigid, and the laptop passes standard durability tests. It will survive daily backpack commutes and desk use, but it won't feel as premium as an aluminum laptop from ASUS or Lenovo. If you drop it from a table, the plastic may crack more easily than metal, so a good case or sleeve is recommended.

Question 5

Who is this laptop best suited for, and who should look elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

This laptop is ideal for gamers who prioritize raw performance and cooling over portability or premium materials. It's also a great desktop replacement for home use. Skip it if you need long battery life for classes or travel (it weighs 2.44 kg and drains fast under load), or if you're sensitive to tinny speakers—headphones are a must for good audio. For students or professionals on the go, consider the ASUS ROG Strix G16 or Lenovo Legion Pro 5 (both lighter, with better build and sound).
