Question 1

Are these over-ear or on-ear headphones, and will they be comfortable for all-day wear?

Accepted Answer

The Rewind 2 are on-ear headphones, meaning the cushions rest on your ears rather than encircling them. They are widely praised for being exceptionally lightweight and comfortable for shorter to medium sessions (a few hours). However, some users with larger ears or who wear glasses note that, like most on-ear models, they can cause some discomfort during very long, continuous wear. If you prioritize all-day, over-ear comfort, you might want to explore other options.

Question 2

How is the sound quality, particularly the bass and maximum volume?

Accepted Answer

These headphones deliver clear, balanced sound perfect for podcasts, casual listening, and calls. It's important to know that many social media reviewers and users mention the bass is present but not overpowering, and the maximum volume is adequate for everyday use but may not satisfy those who crave extremely loud or bass-heavy sound for genres like hip-hop or EDM. The companion app does offer EQ presets to tweak the sound to your preference.

Question 3

Do they feel durable, or do they have a cheap, plasticky build?

Accepted Answer

The lightweight, retro design is intentionally reminiscent of vintage headphones, which can lead to a perception of being less robust than modern, heavier models. While they are not built for extreme ruggedness, the general consensus from long-term users is that they hold up well with normal care. A common tip from Reddit users is to avoid overly rough handling and consider the included carry bag for transport in a backpack.

Question 4

What's the real-world battery life, and how good is the microphone for phone calls?

Accepted Answer

The advertised 20+ hours is generally accurate for moderate volume levels. At maximum volume, you can expect a reduction. The built-in microphone is good for clear calls in quiet to moderately noisy environments. While it effectively handles everyday conversations, it doesn't feature advanced noise isolation for very loud settings like a construction site or a busy street.

Question 5

Who are these headphones best suited for, and who might want to look elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

These are an excellent choice if you value lightweight comfort, stable Bluetooth, and a unique retro style above all else. They're perfect for students, style-conscious listeners, and anyone who finds most headphones too heavy. You might want to consider alternatives if you are a bass enthusiast, need active noise cancellation (ANC), require ultra-loud volume, or have particularly large ears that are sensitive to on-ear pressure.
