Question 1

Does this gauge work on aluminum or plastic car body panels?

Accepted Answer

It’s designed specifically for ferrous metals like steel and iron. On aluminum, plastic, or carbon fiber, the readings will be inaccurate or nonexistent. Many TikTok and Reddit users confirm this limitation, so double-check your car’s panels before buying.

Question 2

How accurate is it, and do I need to calibrate it often?

Accepted Answer

Accuracy is decent for casual use, but some buyers report drift after several measurements. The gauge comes pre-calibrated, but you may need to re-zero it every 10–15 readings for best results. Professional users sometimes find this annoying, but for a quick used-car check, it’s reliable enough.

Question 3

Is it durable enough for daily use in a garage or workshop?

Accepted Answer

It’s built more for occasional portability than heavy-duty abuse. The plastic body and exposed screen can scratch if tossed in a toolbox. DIYers and weekend mechanics love the compact size, but pros looking for rugged construction might prefer a pricier steel model.

Question 4

What’s included in the package—batteries, case, manual?

Accepted Answer

You get the gauge itself, a user manual, and two AAA batteries. There’s no carrying case or calibration block, which some reviewers wish was included. For the price, it’s a solid value if you just need a simple tool for used-car inspections.

Question 5

Can I return or exchange it if I’m not satisfied or it’s defective?

Accepted Answer

Yes, standard return policies apply—typically 30 days for refunds or exchanges. Some buyers have noted that getting a replacement for calibration issues can be slow, so it’s smart to test it immediately on a known surface. Check the seller’s return policy before ordering.
