Question 1

Are these 3mm spacers thick enough for hanging a heavy interior door?

Accepted Answer

For standard interior doors, a single 3mm spacer is ideal for fine-tuning alignment during installation. However, based on user feedback for heavier doors, some installers prefer to "stack" two or three spacers together to create a more robust, custom-sized shim. For very heavy exterior doors, we recommend checking if you need a thicker, dedicated shim.

Question 2

How durable is the plastic material? Will the spacers crack or compress over time?

Accepted Answer

The spacers are made from a rigid PVC plastic designed for compression in framing applications. While some users note they feel less sturdy than wooden shims, the consensus from reviews is that they hold their shape well under the constant pressure of a installed door or window frame. They are not intended for extreme load-bearing, but perform reliably for their intended purpose.

Question 3

I see the pack contains 20 pieces. Is that what I'll reliably receive, and how are they shipped?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you will receive 20 spacers. They are typically shipped in a simple, sealed plastic bag. While the vast majority of orders arrive correctly, a small number of users have reported receiving an opened bag or a slight count discrepancy. If this happens, please contact customer service for a prompt resolution.

Question 4

What's the main advantage of using these plastic spacers over traditional wooden shims?

Accepted Answer

The key advantages are consistency and convenience. Unlike wooden shims that vary in taper and thickness, these provide a uniform 3mm gap, which is perfect for achieving level, consistent spacing quickly. Many TikTok and Reddit DIYers love them for batch projects. Wooden shims are more versatile for tapered gaps and are stronger for high-stress points, so the best choice depends on your specific task.

Question 5

What is your return policy if these aren't right for my project?

Accepted Answer

We offer a standard return policy if the product is unused and in its original packaging. Given the low cost of the item, many customers who found the 3mm size unsuitable for their project simply repurposed them for lighter tasks like shelving or cabinet installation. We always recommend double-checking the required spacer thickness (3mm, 5mm, 10mm, etc.) for your specific door or window before purchasing.
